The day 11th August 2008 didn't rise as a normal day for every Indian.That day came up with the shine of glorious and incomparable GOLD MEDAL in 10 meters Air Rifle Shooting in Beijing Olympics. And the hearts of all Indians overflow with the rejoice and happiness.
The great magician behind this scene was none other than ABHINAV BINDRA.
ABHINAV BINDRA
Just like his name suggest , he came up with the newest thing in Indian History which will be going to shine for all the time in Indian future.Was this, his success was a flook or mere a chance of luck..........no no not even think about that. Because if you just watch his career chart and medals he won in different shooting competitions you will come to know that this thing is the result of consistent & persistent hard-work.
- made a junior world record score of 597/600 in 2001 Munich World Cup and won bronze.
- In the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, competing in his pet Air rifle event, Abhinav won Gold in the Pairs event and Silver in the individual event.
- Abhinav Bindra became the first Indian shooter to win a World Championship gold; Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2001.
- Bindra won six gold medals at various international meets in the European Circuit in 2001.
- In the 2004 Athens Olympics, despite breaking the Olympic record Bindra failed to win a medal. But on July 24, 2006, Bindra became the first Indian shooter to win a World Championship gold in Zagreb.
What made him to make this happen if you think is only thing keep on trying keep on trying.You may not succeed in very first attempt, even not in 4-5 successive atttempt but at some stage you will surely get success. Cause there is one saying.."God helps them , who helps themselves...".
But remember one thing never repeat the same mistakes in next attempt. My teacher Dr. Vijay Gokhale used to say..."1 baar nahi hota, toh dusari baar karo.. fir se nahi hua to fir se karo.. fir se nahi hua toh fir se karo...and the loop goes on till you get success....aakhir galti karane waale tum hi ho aur sudharne waale bhi tum hi.."
And if you are able to correct your mistakes you will be surely achieve something like Abhinav has achieved...and all India will be proud of you..
